How much will I save?

This will depend on the width of your corrugator, deckles used and how efficient your current specifications are.

A company with a £3 million pound material spend, with a 2000mm width corrugator and making a saving on 1 in 10 specifications, could expect an annual saving of £15,000. This does not include labour savings, capacity increases or elimination of errors.

What is Deckle Check?

Deckle Check is a unique piece of software that can be used in the design, sales and cost reduction departments of any corrugated manufacturer. The program is built around your own individual plant limits and checks the efficiency of a specification before costing. Deckle Check then makes any recommendations on reductions required to achieve the necessary savings.

Is the program only for corrugated manufacturers?

No, Deckle Check can also work very effectively for sheet converters. We only require a minimal amount of information from you and your supplier, to be able to built you your own version of the program.

What is a Corrugator Waste and Utilisation Programme?

A CWUP is a programme that checks the efficiency of specifications before the quotation stage and makes recommendations for improvement. It carries this out by using the plant limits as a guide, and then works out the most effective utilisation of the corrugator deckle. This reduces trim levels and sometimes allows the opportunity to increase the number out across the deckle. This increase in the number out, results in less lineal metres being run, and an increase in the corrugator’s capacity.

I already check my deckles before manufacturing?

How long does this manual method take per specification? Deckle Check requires only three figures to be input and calculates, as the figures are added. It also tells you how much to remove from the blank, so you don’t even have to calculate that. Deckle Check is built around a standard set of figures that you supply, which eliminates the possibility of ‘Human Error’ and allows you to control your waste levels. This in turn enables you to reject any specifications that are inefficient, or look at offering another design that is more suitable for your production machinery.

How much will it cost?

The cost will depend on four factors:

Amount of data requiring input
Number of licences purchased
Customisation of the software
Support and upgrade contracts

Each version of the program is individually created for a customer, and will be quoted on the information supplied to us.

What experience do you have of the industry to create this program?

Deckle Check is the result of a partnership between Kenetic Designs - Packaging innovation and Cost Reduction Consultancy and Another Evil - Software Development.

Kenetic Designs
Gavin Mounce (Director) the creator of Deckle Check, has over nine years experience in structural design, sales, graphics and value engineering. He has also won a Eurostar, four Starpack and three Worldstar awards during his career in structural design.

Another Evil
Another Evil is a young and enthusiastic software development company, with experience in the retail and manufacturing markets. They can provide everything from web-based applications, to database driven multi user systems.

Will the program be available in other languages?

We are currently working in partnership with a European based consultancy and software developer, so that we can offer Deckle Check in a number of different languages. Please contact us for further details.
